The Revision Guide for our Habitats quiz next week can be found here. Hard copies are also being printed for the students. Good luck and happy studying!
4-8 is excited to announce that we will be hosting an assembly on Wednesday 11th January and we would like to invite all parents from 4-8 to attend. Please arrive to the Multi-Purpose Room by 11:45am on Wednesday to see our performances. We hope to see you there!
Parent Conferences will take place on Tuesday 17th January and Wednesday 18th January. This year, parents are asked to sign up for a 10 minute time slot online. The website for 4-8 is https://pamelarobinson4-8.youcanbook.me. Please take the time to sign up for a meeting. If you are unable to attend during the available time slots, feel free to email me to set up a meeting at another time. We look forward to seeing you!
Please note that our National Day celebrations have been moved to Thursday 15th December. Reports will also be handed out this day.
The final week of Term 1 will be very busy! Please read the information below in order to prepare for each of the days to follow.
On Tuesday 13th December, Year 4 students will be attending our annual field trip to Darb Al Saai. Students must bring a small bag, food, and water. A sun hat and jacket would also be helpful, as we will be outside for much of the day.
On Wednesday 14th December, our whole school will celebrate National Day together. Students will be invited to bring in traditional Arabic foods as part of our class celebration. Please note, however, that due to allergies in the class, any treats should be free from all traces of nuts.
The final day of Term 1 will be Thursday 15th December. Reports will be handed out on this day, and students will be dismissed at 12:30. Term 2 will begin Tuesday 3rd January.
This week, students in all classes will have a chance to visit the Book Fair held in our Multipurpose Room. 4-8 will attend the fair together on Sunday. Students will also be allowed to attend before and after school, provided they are with an adult. Books will be available from a variety of vendors.
The children have settled into the school year well, and we are all enjoying our learning time together. Here are a few things to remember for this week:
- After School Activities begin this week. Remember to sign up quickly, as spaces for each activity are limited.
- Homework will be distributed each Sunday, and will be completed at your child's own pace throughout the week. It will be returned each Thursday. Homework is an excellent opportunity to become involved in your child's lessons and to see what we are learning at school.
- Year 4 children are to be collected outside Block D promptly at the end of the school day. School ends at 1:45 Sunday through Wednesdays, and at 12:30 each Thursday. Students who are not collected at this time will wait in the small cafeteria.
**Please do not try to enter the classroom to collect your child as this disrupts the rest of the students in the hallways and classrooms as they prepare to go home.**
- Thursday 13th October is our first ESLR Dress-Up Day of the school year. Students are encouraged to dress up as Ethical Individual such as doctors, nurses, teachers, police officers, or fire fighters.
This week, students in 4-8 have spent time getting to know one another and their new surroundings. We have had a great time making the classroom our own. We decorated our new space and started to make some posters to help us in our learning. We also wrote our classroom rules together. We agreed that we will all show mutual respect; we will all respect our classmates, our teachers, and ourselves.
Our class schedule will be posted soon!
