Year 2 children created their own composition which was inspired byt the artist, Kandinsky. They drew a variety of shapes, lines and added hot and cold colours.
Year 1 children looked at the artist, Friedensreich Hundertwasser. They learnt more about which colours were hot and cold. They layered cold water colours to create a moody sky similar to the artists work and created wax resist lollipop trees which they stuck on to their artwork.
All students in Years 1 and 2 need to bring long sleeved aprons or any old shirts to wear over uniforms during Art lessons.
This is necessary to avoid staining while using art materials. These will be stored in their classroom.

Year 1 have been learning how to draw on foil. They explored how to show a bumpy texture. They applied different lines to make a palm tree.
Year 1 have done a fantastic job working together in groups. They created a large mural inspired by the artist, Jean Miro. Children took their pencils for a walk and then added coloured oil pastels inside and around the shapes. They finally used a dark colour to trace their lines.
Year 2 have been exploring LINE. They created a variety of lines using pencil, pen and markers.
These children received an ESLR certificate in class, 3 house points and a postive ISAM. Well done.
Year 2 children traced animal shapes. They also included the animals environment. Then they added colour independently and carefully.
These children received an ESLR, 3 house points and a positive ISAM. Well done.
